Couple Dashes Out Jared Jewelers With Rolex Watch On Wrist

Christmas comes early for a pair of thieves who stole a Rolex watch Friday from Jared Galleria of Jewelry.

The Utica police are looking for a couple that tried on a Rolex watch valued at $7,442 at on Hall Road Friday and dashed out.

Police said the man and woman entered the store around 11:30 a.m. and asked an employee to try on a specific Rolex watch.  The employee told police the man then asked to try on another Rolex watch.

After the employee placed the watch on the man's arm, he yelled, "go" to the woman and ran out the door to the parking lot, according to a police report.

The woman followed behind after a short delay, police said. 

Police and K-9 units combed the parking lot for evidence, but police dogs lost the couple's scent in the parking lot.

Witnesses described the man as black, 20-30 years old, with a thin build and 6 feet 3 inches. He was wearing a tan sweat suit. The woman is described as black and wearing a navy pea coat and black pants.
