• Competency exam ordered for Utica man accused of fatally stabbing his estranged wife at gas station (macombdaily.com) — A 25-year-old Utica resident has been ordered to undergo a psychiatric competency exam before standing trial in Macomb County for allegedly fatally stabbing his estranged wife during a child custody exchange at a Hall Road gas station. The incident, investigated by Shelby Township police and the sheriff’s office, left their 1-year-old child unharmed and in the care of a grandmother while the suspect remains jailed without bond.
