Expensive Golf Clubs Stolen from Garage
Golf clubs valuing more than $750 were stolen from a homeowner’s garage near 24 Mile and Hayes roads in Shelby Township on March 18. Police said the homeowner reported the larceny after finding all the contents, including a pair of sunglasses valued at $100, stolen from her golf bag in her garage. However, the bag was left behind. The case was closed due to lack of suspects.
Vehicle Broken into Outside Joe Dumars Fieldhouse

A GPS and radio were stolen from a vehicle that was parked in the Joe Dumars Fieldhouse in Shelby Township on March 19. The vehicle's owner is a Joe Dumars Fieldhouse employee, but he said he happened to be there that day watching back-to-back hockey games with his family when the larceny occurred. No other vehicles in the parking lot were broken into that day.
Copper Piping Stolen from Business

Copper piping and lawn sprinkler valves were stolen from a business on West Star Lane in Shelby Township on March 21. The business owner told police he believes the theft took place sometime between March 18 and March 20. The stolen copper has a street value of less than $500.
Utica Arrests 4 on St. Patrick’s Day on Suspicion of Drunken Driving
Four drivers were pulled over on suspicion of drunken driving and jailed in Utica from 11:30 p.m. March 17 to about 2:30 a.m. March 18. Within minutes Utica officers pulled over two separate vehicles in Utica.
A 36-year-old man speeding down the westbound lanes of Hall Road in a 2006 BMW was pulled over at 11:30 p.m. March 17. At the police station, the man blew a .15 during a breath test, police said. Â He was charged with OWI (operating while intoxicated).
Police said moments later, a 42-year-old woman in a Chevy Astro swerved into a patrolling Utica police officer’s lane and was pulled over near Cass road. During a preliminary breath test the woman blew a .136 and failed several sobriety tests, according to a Utica police report. She was arrested and charged with OWI.
A 47-year-old woman in a Dodge Neon was pulled over around 1:20 a.m. as she attempted to get onto the northbound lanes of M-53 from Hall Road. The woman also failed several sobriety tests and blew a .132 during a preliminary breath test. She was arrested and charged with OWI.
The final arrest of the night was made at 2:35 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of Hall Road. A 21-year-old man driving a 2008 Dodge Dakota was pulled over for allegedly swerving. After failing several sobriety tests, the man blew a .159 and was arrested and charged with OWI.
