Spring Cleaning Time: Join Shelby for Clean Up Day

It's spring cleaning day for Shelby Township. On April 28, the Township will hold its annual Clean Up Day.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Community Center at 51670 Van Dyke.Β  A pizza and pop lunch will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.Β  In the event of bad weather, please call 586.739.7540 for information.Β  The Rain Day is May 5.

All residents are welcome to participate in the annual community project sponsored by the Shelby Township Beautification Committee.Β  The Township hoping to see 800 volunteers this year from groups such as the scouts and area businesses, to name just a few.Β  Walk-ins are also welcome and are promised a rewarding experience.

At registration, volunteers will be issued orange safety vests and orange plastic bags supplied by the Road Commission of Macomb County.Β  Everyone is encouraged to wear boots and gloves.

The volunteers go to an assigned area and clear the roadside of debris and litter, leaving the bags for later pick-up by the County.

The Beautification Committee, in conjunction with the Macomb County Department of Roads, urges everyone to participate and help make Shelby a beautiful place to live.
