How Many Votes Did Shelby Township and Utica Lawmakers Miss in 2012?
The cities' representatives in the Michigan House and Senate had nearly perfect voting records.
It was a busy year in Lansing and we've got the scoop on how legislators representing Shelby Township and Utica performed.
Overall in Michigan, 13 of 38 senators had perfect voting records, while 62 out of 110 representatives did the same on roll call votes taken from Jan. 1, 2012, through Dec. 31, 2012, according to michiganvotes.org.

- Sen. Jack Brandenburg, R-Harrison Township, representing the 11th District including Shelby Township, missed 21 votes of 1,082 taken, or 1 percent of all votes for the year.
- Sen. Tory Rocca, R-Sterling Heights, representing the 10th District including Utica, had a perfect voting record, missing zero votes out of 1,082 taken..
- Rep. Pete Lund, R-Shelby Township, representing the 36th District including Shelby Township, had a perfect voting record, missing zero roll call votes out of 904 taken.
- Rep. Jeff Farrington, R-Utica, representing the 30th District including Utica, had a perfect voting record, missing zero roll call votes out of 904 taken.
Sen. Bert Johnson, D-Detroit, representing the 2nd District, missed the most votes in the Senate with 111; Rep. Rep. Jimmy Womack, D-Detroit, representing the 7th District, missed the most votes in the House with 409.
Rocca, Brandenburg, Lund and Farrington will return to Lansing on Jan. 9 for the start of the Michigan House and Senate's 2013 session.
