Last Chance: Filing Deadline for 2011 Federal Income Tax Returns is April 17
You have one week left to file your 2011 federal income tax return before facing late penalties and interest.
In case it managed to slip by you, the filing deadline, or due date for 2011 federal income tax returns is April 17.
The traditional tax return filing deadline is April 15, but as April 15 is a Sunday in 2012 and April 16 falls on Emancipation Day in the District of Columbia, everyone gets an extra two days this year to get their taxes in order.
April 17 is also the due date to apply for 2011 tax extensions.
