Patch Editors Join Residents in Walk for Warmth

Shelby-Utica and Macomb Patch editors walk with Macomb County residents to raise funds for those with home heating emergencies.

Temperatures hovered in the 20s, but the sun was out and the spirits high for the more than 150 people who participated in the on Saturday.

Shelby-Utica Patch editor Marina Cracchiolo and Macomb Patch editor Jenny Whalen joined dozens of Macomb County residents on the three-mile walk sponsored by the Macomb County Community Services Agency.

Funds raised during the event through walkers' pledges and donations will be used to help low-income families and individuals with home heating emergencies.

More than $28,000 was raised during last year's walk and Julie Kavanagh, MCCSA communications specialist, said monetary contributions can still be made by mail to: MCCSA, ATTN: Walk for Warmth, 21885 Dunham Rd., Suite 10, Clinton Township, MI 48036. Checks should be made payable to MCCSAβ€”Walk for Warmth.
