Shelby-Utica Annexation Battle: Timeline of Key Events

The 20-year legal battle over a half-mile portion of land that Utica annexed from Shelby Township ended in 1996.

In 2012, to Shelby Township for loss revenue on the portion of land on Hall Road from M-53 east to Schoenherr Road.

However, there were many key events, including a trip to the Michigan Supreme Court, in the saga that played out over the course of 30 years.
