UAW Supervisor Sexually Assaults Employee At Macomb Co. Plant: Police
Prosecutors said the incident happened in August at a Ford Plant in Macomb County.
STERLING HEIGHTS, MI — A 48-year-old UAW supervisor is facing charges after sexually assaulting an employee at the Ford Plant in Sterling Heights in August, according to the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office.
Angelo Joseph Lupo was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of unlawful imprisonment. He was placed in jail with a bond set at $50,000. His next court date is scheduled for Nov. 27.
If Lupo is released from jail, he cannot have contact with the woman and must surrender his passport.

If convicted on the criminal sexual conduct charge, he faces up to 15 in prison for each charge.
Prosecutors said Lupo lured a young woman into his office on Aug. 26 when he confined and sexually assaulted her.

"Our hearts go out to the victim, who showed immense courage in coming forward. Using a position of authority to exploit and harm another individual is a serious offense, and our office is committed to seeking justice on her behalf," Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido said.
