VIDEO: Martial Arts Master Teaches Stranger Danger Seminars

A local martial arts studio owner is offering children a free seminar on how to defend yourself against strangers.

Martial arts has always been a popular sport for children in America, but now it may be a lifesaving reality kids and parents need to know. 

Denny Strecker, owner of Denny Strecker's Karate in Warren, reached out to Patch after reading about the recent and offered to demonstrate some basic moves that may save a child if he or she is ever approached by a stranger.

In addition to regular karate classes, Strecker said he will be offering a free one-day course on how to fight off a stranger.

Shelby police are advising parents to be on alert and to talk with their children about what to do in stranger danger situations.
