VIDEO: My New Year's Resolution is...

My New Year's Resolution is to smile at everyone I see - yes, EVERYONE. I've been practicing the month of December and found that it's harder than you may think.

That means as I walk down the aisles of the grocery store, I must remember to smile at every passerby.

This resolution forces me to constantly remind myself to be conscience about not letting life distract me from the important things in life such as smiling at a stranger.

For me it doesn't take much to force the corners of my lips to curve up as I walk past someone, but that small gesture may mean much more to a perfect stranger.

Hopefully, my little social experiment will positively impact at least one person in the world, whether it's a friendly face during a bad day or inspiring someone to do the same, I hope my resolution touches at least one person.

Plus, it is kind of fun to see people who are not used to a beaming smile react to you. I've found it a healthy challenge to try and get people to smile back at me.

If you act happy, you're more likely to be happy. It's really that easy. Let's not overcomplicate 2012.
