VIDEO: Students Turn into High-Fashion Models for 1 Night
Students sashayed down the runway Thursday to raise money for Lutheran High School North.
students strutted their stuff Thursday in front of more than 500 people at the school’s annual fundraiser at Palazzo Grande.
About 120 male and female juniors and seniors, and several professional models, walked down the catwalk in outfits donated to the school for the fashion show.
The atmosphere behind the scenes of the show resembled that of an NYC Fashion Week show. Makeup: check. Hair: check. Rehearsal: check. Goofing off: check.

of Shelby Township began in the afternoon prepping the models' hair and makeup. And up to moments before the show, coordinators had the models rehearsing their sashays.
The seniors modeled formal wear and the juniors wore separates.

“It’s sort of a highlight of their senior year. They have a great time and they all look forward to it,” said Tracie Gillespie, an event coordinator.
Among some of the stores that participated in the show were Betsey Johnson, Max Studio, Chico’s, JCPenney, Windsor, Laura’s Bridal, Wesner Tuxedo and more.
Area businesses also donated items to be auctioned off.
Gilespie said she is hoping this year’s event raised more than $20,000 for the school.
