Koepp named Interim St. Clair Shores Fire Chief

ST. CLAIR SHORES, MI — Ryan Koepp has been named as St. Clair Shores interim fire chief. He will fill in until a permanent replacement is found for newly retired chief George Morehouse. Koepp has been with the department since 1998.

“Everyone had a high degree of respect for Chief Koepp with (his) knowledge and experience,” City Manager Mike Smith said, explaining that he chose Koepp “based on the fact that he was more than qualified to do it and would provide the least interruption of service to the department.”

“Our main objective in this interim period is to prepare our organization for an easy handoff to the next chief,” Koepp told the St. Clair Shores Sentinel. “Just review our current operations, improve them wherever we can ... Inspect (the stations) for safety and cleanliness and make sure we are handing over a really tight organization for the next person so they can be a success.”
