Library Hosts Meet-And-Greet With Andy Levin Saturday

The St. Clair Shores Public library will host a meet-and-greet with US House candidate Andy Levin and retired Congressman David Bonior.

Retired Congressman David Bonior will introduce Andy Levin, son of Sander Levin and candidate for his father’s former House seat, at a meet-and-greet Saturday. The March 3 event will take place at the St. Clair Shores Public Library. Bonnier, who represented Michigan’s 10th district in the House, left office in 2003. Andy Levin, who wants to replace his father in representing the 9th Congressional District, is a Bloomfield Township resident and graduate of Harvard Law School. His uncle, Carl Levin, served five terms as a US Senator from Michigan, retiring in 2015.

The 9th District includes parts of 19 Metro Detroit cities, including Royal Oak, Ferndale, Warren and St. Clair Shores.

"After 60 years of Republican divide-and-conquer politics and 40 years of trickle-down economics where wealth has in fact rushed to the top, it is time to unite around policies that raise living standards for working people," Levin said in a statement. "We need a new movement focused on creating good jobs, education and training, protecting our air and water, and restoring faith in our government."
