Macomb Food Collaborative Presents Workshops

Workshop participants can choose from a variety of workshops created to entice any food enthusiast.

From Macomb Food Collaborative: The Macomb Food Collaborative would like to invite the community to participate in the 6th annual All about Food: From Farm to Fork conference on Tuesday, June 6 at Macomb Community College University Center.

Participants can choose from a variety of workshops created to entice any food enthusiast, such as: Serving the Community Beyond the School Bell, Nutrition and Lead, Basic Backyard Gardening and Cultured Foods and Beverages for Your Health.

Additionally, there will be an expert panel who will discuss the future of farming from various points of view. Guest panelists include:

  • Jim Reid, Reid Dairy Farm
  • Chris Bunch, Six Rivers Land Conservation
  • Shane Bernando, Earthworks Urban Farm
  • Norris Stephens, Good Medicine Farm

The conference and special pop-up market will begin at 8 a.m. Both the market and provided lunch will feature local foods. The early bird conference fee is $30 until May 30. After May 30, the fee will increase to $35.

The Macomb Food Collaborative is supported by several county organizations and government entities including Macomb Community Action, Michigan State University Extension, Macomb County Health Department and the Macomb Intermediate School District.
