Traffic stop leads to arrests
Macomb County Sheriff's deputies stopped a vehicle just after midnight Feb. 28 on Harper at Masonic. According to a police report, deputies observed open beer cans on the passenger floorboard and smelled intoxicants on the breath of the three men in the car. When the driver was patted down, deputies discovered drug paraphernalia. They also found an open pill bottle containing four white pills, later determined to be hydrocodone, in the car. According to investigators, the driver, a 19 year-old St. Clair Shores man was arrested for possession of analogues/open intoxicants in a motor vehicle. The front seat passenger, 19 year-old Fraser man, was arrested for minor in possession/open intoxicants. The backseat passenger, a 26 year-old Clinton Township, man was also arrested on outstanding warrants.Â

St. Clair Shores police are investigating the reported theft of nearly $1,700 worth of jewelry Feb. 22 from Kmart. Store employees reported that a man, about 30-years-old, with a tattoo on his finger and wearing a black jacket and hat, entered the store and asked to look at a 10-karat white gold ring with a half-karat diamond, and a 2-karat diamond sterling silver tennis bracelet. The suspect looked at both items, and ran out of the store with jewelry.
