Blotter: Man Arrested During a Traffic Stop; Woman Reports Identity Theft

Police arrested a man after driving the wrong way on a one-way street; and a woman says her credit card information was stolen.

A 54-year-old woman reported to police that someone was using her personal information and credit card at BestBuy.com at about 3:30 p.m. Jan. 28.

According to police records the woman told police that she received a call from BestBuy.com and was advised that a man was trying to represent himself as her to purchase a computer, but the purchase was not allowed to take place.

The woman said she had since canceled the credit card and wanted the incident documented in case there are more problems in the future.

Police arrested a man for driving with a supsended license at about 3 a.m. Jan. 29 on Fort Street.

Officers stopped the blue Ford Taurus station wagon with a broken rear driver’s side window for driving the wrong way on a one-way street. The officer said he was “coming directly at me.”

When asked about his driving, the man told police he was lost. He also said he did not have a driver’s license, and police arrested him after confirming his statement.

The man was transported to the Trenton Police Station and his car was impounded. He was issued a citation for driving the wrong way on a one-way street.
