Nearly All Boston Marathon Runners from Trenton, Grosse Ile Finished Before Explosions (UPDATED)
One Trenton resident and six Grosse Ile residents participated in the Boston Marathon where two explosions occurred near the finish line Monday.

Of the seven Trenton and Grosse Ile residents who ran in the Boston Marathon Monday, all but one crossed the finish line, according to the Boston Marathon website.
Two explosions near the finish line of the marathon killed at least three people and injured dozens.
Collie Hooper-Yan, of Grosse Ile, did not finish the race, though she did make it to the halfway point of the race.

Patch reader according to a post she'd read on Facebook.
Patch reached out to all Trenton and Grosse Ile residents registered for the race and received responses from runners Ashley Unger, of Trenton, and Heather Fulmer, of Grosse Ile.

Unger said she was on the same street as one of the explosions, but was far enough away to avoid injury. Unger finished the race before the explosions.
Fulmer said she and her family are "ok."
"Finished seven minutes before bombs exploded. Saw everything. Horrifying experience," Fulmer said.
David Wilson of Grosse Ile also participated in the race and was not injured in the explosions, according to his wife Vicki Wilson.
Patch had not received responses from the other runners at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday.
The remaining marathon runners are:

- Alesia Sibrel of Grosse Ile
- Michael Tamilia of Grosse Ile
