Photo Gallery: Bargain Hunters Invade Taylor Elementary

Residents bombard a "garage sale" at William C. Taylor Elementary School searching for big bargains.

The prompted a "" and bargain hunters from around Trenton rushed through the double doors Tuesday to get their hands on hundreds of items.

Buyers were picking up items like chairs and desks by the truckload.

One area teacher bought enough chairs to fill a classroom and a former Taylor Elementary student just had to have a chair similar to the one she sat in years ago.

Items not yet for sale are the nearly 100 Macintosh computers previously used at the school.

Interim Superintendent Larry Leapley said a computer sale is in the future, but a date has not been set.

He added the computers needed to be returned to factory settings and "wiped clean" of any saved information.

Ken Kreszyn, district supervisor of facilities, said he was optimistic that many, if not all, items would be sold in the three day sale.

A total of potential money raised by the sale was unavailable. Any funds raised are set to go to the district's general fund.

The sale continues Wednesday and Thursday:

  • All are welcome to the sale from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14.
