Police Arrest Juvenile After Receiving Call About Car Break-ins

Trenton police arrested a 15-year-old boy after neighbors called to complain he was allegedly breaking into cars at about 4:35 a.m. Feb. 12 in the 3400 block of Sherwood Street.
A 44-year-old woman told police she saw a person wearing a black jacket and blue jeans "going through" her car and others on Sherwood, according to a police report.
Upon arrival Trenton police used a tracking dog from the suspectβs last known location to a backyard in the 3300 block of Margarette Drive between the residence and the garage according to the same report.

Officers heard a noise from inside the garage and a person wearing a black jacket and blue jeans stepped out of the garage through a side door.
Police managed to place the boy in handcuffs and began searching the garage.

Inside the garage was a black 2008 Jeep Commander with a passenger side door open slightly, and inside the truck officers found two bags containing a large amount of change, four navigation systems, a pink digital camera, a small knife and a cell phone cord.
The boy was placed under arrest for larceny of a motor vehicle.
At the Trenton Police station officers found nearly $570 in the boyβs pants pocket.
Wayne County Juvenile Intake refused to take the boy and he was released into his motherβs custody according to the same report.
