Police Blotter: Harassing Phone Calls; Outstanding Warrant Arrests

Police took complaints from a woman over harassing phone calls she said relatives made; officers also picked up two people on warrants during traffic stops.

Woman complains of harrassing phone calls

A 44-year-old woman arrived at the about midnight Dec. 21 and told police she had been harassed over the telephone by her brother. The woman told police she had recently filed a telephone harassment complaint against her stepbrother. She said her brother was upset with her for doing this and began calling her. She said her brother and his wife left threatening and profane voicemail messages.

She told police the relatives said they were going to "kick her (expletive)" and were going to "come to her house" and that they were "not afraid of the 'po po.'" Police said they asked to listen to the voicemail, but she had already shut her phone off and set up a new phone with a new number.

Police said they were unable to contact the brother, but left a voicemail telling him to contact Trenton police.

Woman arrested on outstanding Allen Park warrant

Trenton police took an Allen Park woman into custody after Allen Park police stopped her on a traffic issue about noon Dec. 21 and noticed there was a warrant out for her arrest from Trenton police. Trenton police were called to pick up the woman, whose warrant was for failing to appear in court on an original charge of operating while impaired.

Cracked windshield turns into an arrest

Police took a man into custody on two warrants after pulling the man's 1999 Jeep Cherokee over near Fort and Van Horn for having a cracked windshield about 11 p.m. Dec. 21. Police realized the man had a warrant for forgery out of 41-A District Court in Sterling Heights, and a warrant for failure to appear in court out of Wayne County Circuit Court.
