Power Restored to the Masses
After nearly 20 hours of power outages, a DTE Energy media relations person said the power is back up and running for all Trenton residents.

After about 20 hours of living without power, Trenton residents'Â power was fully restored early Friday morning.
According to Alejandro Bodipo-Memba of the Media Relations Department at DTE Energy the remaining 150 residents without power had their power back on at about 12:05 a.m.
The power outage was caused by a high-voltage power line that came down causing a chain reaction that left nearly 3000 residents without power at one time or another during the day Thursday -- beginning as early as 5 a.m.

The Trenton Fire Department were called to put out a fire that took out a transformer at about 5 a.m. on Harrison Avenue near Fort Street. The fire left about 2,200 residents without power.
Later, according to another DTE Energy media relation person a piece of failed electrical equipment knocked out power to an additional 700 people at about 11 a.m.

Both Hedke and Anderson elementary schools were closed Thursday due to the power outage.
The Westfield Center was designated an official warming center for residents without power.
According to Trenton Police there were no injures or deaths as a result of the loss of power.
