Stuff You Need to Know: Aug. 31
Here are a few things to help you get your day started right.

Good morning Trenton. Here's a rundown of what you need to know today.
- I hope you aren't getting sick of all the sunshine, because it will soon be gone. Enjoy it while you can. The National Weather Service is calling for a partly sunny day with a high near 80 degrees and winds up to 6 mph.
- In recognition of Trenton's rich hockey traditions, we bring you the Hockey Term of the Day: flip shot, a shot in which a player cups the puck in his stick, then flips it with his wrists up off the ice towards the goal; this sometimes makes the puck harder to block. Terms brought to you by www.firstbasesports.com.
- The varsity football game against Gibraltar Carlson is on Thursday, Sept. 1. Trenton Patch previously reported the game was on Friday. The correction has been made to the story.
- The American Red Cross is in need of blood and platelet donations to aid people affected by hurricane Irene. Click to see how you can help.
- When was the last time you donated blood?
