Stuff You Need to Know: Aug. 8

Here are a few things to help you get your day started right.

Good morning Trenton. Here's a rundown of what you need to know today.

  1. You may want to grab your umbrella before you leave the house today. The National Weather Service is calling for a 30 percent chance of showers before 3 p.m. Otherwise the day will be party sunny with a high near 82 degrees.
  2. In recognition of Trenton's rich hockey traditions, we bring you the Hockey Term of the Day: elbowing, a minor penalty which occurs when a player strikes his opponent with an elbow to impede his progress. Terms brought to you by www.firstbasesports.com.
  3. There is a meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the board of education building. On the agenda is a transportation recommendation for the 2011-12 school year by interim Superintendent Larry Leapley.
  4. Patch has pictures from . Be sure to check them out at noon today.
  5. Today is the first day of practice for the football team and Patch will be there. Players and coach have high hopes for this season. Look for a video on the practice later today.
