Thief Steals Truck, Leaves Bicycle Behind

A Trenton man awoke to find his truck was stolen out of his garage sometime between 7 p.m. and 1 a.m. March 21 and 22 in the 3000 block of Lafayette Street.

The 80-year-old man told he woke to find his 2000 Ford Ranger was gone, his garage door open and a outside his garage.

The man told police he had backed both his vehicles into the garage and closed the door the night before. He said he left the entry door to the garage unlocked.

At about 1 a.m. the man looked outside and noticed his garage door was open and truck was missing.

The man said he found a bicycle that did not belong to him outside the garage after his truck was stolen. He also found a flashlight that did not belong to him inside the garage.

He told police the keys for the truck were on top of the center armrest compartment inside the truck.

Police are looking for a tan two-wheel drive 2000 Ford Ranger with an extended cab and a matching cap on the bed of the truck. The man said there is a large amount of rust over the rear driver’s side wheel well, according to police.

The bicycle and flashlight were tagged into evidence.
