Trenton Boys Soccer Team Moves on to District Championship

The boys soccer team has earned their spot at the big boys' table.

The Trojans beat Crestwood 4-1 in round 2 of district play, and will move on to the championship game against Divine Child at noon on Saturday at Trenton High School.

Senior Matt McCourt led the way with two goals. Sophomores Garret Nabozny and Davide DiPoce picked up the other two goals. Junior Kyle Gill picked up the win in net.

Coach Tony Ciarlo said he thought his defense played a great "shutdown second-half defense."

After falling behind early in the game, Ciarlo said he motivated his team to play like it was their last game.

"The boys came out fired up in the second half," Ciarlo said. "I told them at half if it was the last game we played all year to give it their all."
