Trenton & Downriver Area Soroptimists' Charity Motorcycle Ride

19th Annual "Save the Girls" Motorcycle Rally

The bikers and riders agreed that it was a perfect day for the rally. The Trenton and Downriver Area Soroptimists would like to thank the many people, groups, and businesses who helped to make the 19th annual "Save the Girls" motorcycle ride on September 9th a success. Motown Harley-Davidson allowed the motorcycles to begin and end their ride at their dealership. Everyone enjoyed music and a Chicken Shack meal after the ride.

The event concluded with several types of raffles: spin the prize wheel, 50/50, a fire pit with four wicker chairs raffle donated by Linda Crisi, and a silent auction of several specialty items donated by local businesses and generous individuals. We especially thank our many sponsors: Arlene Turner; Michael Booth; Rurka Law PLC; Drs. Jackson, Snider, and Parker; Kallas Restaurant Accounting; Catherine Tiefer; Cindy Gouth; Marty Evans; Splasher Auto Wash; Linda Crisi; Iron Bandogs LE MC Central – The Roadhouse; The Vault on First; Sibley Gardens; John and Nancy Colina; Chris Speedie; and Mercure Agency Insurance.

The Trenton Soroptimists wish to extend gratitude to the Inkster, Taylor, Huron, and Sumpter police departments; and the Motown H.O.G. Chapter who acted as escorts to keep the riders safe. Our sincere appreciation goes to all the bikers and riders who supported this great fundraiser. All proceeds of the ride will benefit the worthy cause of raising awareness of women's health issues, domestic violence, and human trafficking.
