Trial Date Extended for Man Accused in Trenton Bomb Scare

The trial date for John Robert Kennedy has been moved to Nov. 15.

The trial for the man accused of a and and at a nearby ACO Hardware store in April did not begin as originally scheduled Tuesday.

United States District Judge John Corbett O'Meara moved the trial date for John Robert Kennedy, 41, to Nov. 15, 2011.

The trial is scheduled to be held at 9 a.m. at the United States District Court, 200 E. Liberty Street in Ann Arbor.

The date was moved because the government requires additional time to gather and convert the voluminous discovery in the case into an electronic format and once the information is received they will require a significant amount of time to review the information with Kennedy, according to court documents.

The government also requested more time to seek the assistance of firearms and chemical experts in reviewing the information pertaining to the case according to the documents.
