Trojans Play 'Barn Burner' for District Championship Today

The Trenton High School boys basketball team will play for the district championship at 7 p.m. Friday at Woodhaven High School.

What might be one of the best seasons in the history of basketball will come to a head Friday night as the Trojans take on Carlson for the district championship.

The game starts at 7 p.m. at Woodhaven High School.

Trenton head coach Rick Morrow said Friday's game against Carlson will be a "barn burner."

"Both teams are very good," Morrow said. "Carlson is well coached and they play hard. Trenton also plays extremely hard and seem toΒ be very focused. I think it will be a great game."

The Trojans beat Southgate Anderson High School 47-27 Wednesday in the second round of district play, placing them in the championship game. The boys were able to hold the Titans to their lowest scoring game of the season according Morrow.

Dan Hall led the Trojans to victory over the Titans with 22 points and 8 rebounds. Chad Hamilton and Jason Zahran each had 10 points.

In game one of district play, the Trojans handled the Wyandotte Roosevelt Bears 63-43 on Monday. Jason Zahran had 18 points and Pat Hebda had 16.

The Trojans have beaten their last five opponents by 20 or more points.

The team now has 13 straight victories and have won 16 out of their last 17 games.

Their record in regular season play was 16-4.
