Pics: Student Government Day at Trenton City Hall

For a few hours Tuesday morning, students took over the reigns of and, with the help of city officials, managed to keep the city running as smoothly as ever.

Trenton students participated in student government day, when high school students take on the roles of city officials and learn what it's like to run a city.

Trenton Mayor Kyle Stack welcomed students in the lobby at city hall, where snacks and refreshments awaited the future leaders.

Students were assigned specific city positions ranging from mayor to clerk, city council to city administrator and everything in between.

The morning concluded with a mock city council meeting in the council chambers, where students tackled an agenda filled with city-related dilemmas created for them by city officials.
