Your Trenton Patch is Here

Your online, community-driven news source for stories on government, business, arts, crime, schools and sports is finally here.

It's here. Your very own Trenton Patch is here. I say "your" because this Patch is about you and the community in which you live—Trenton. My name is Nate Stemen. I am the editor for Trenton Patch, and I want you to consider this letter as an invitation to treat this site as if it were your own.

From City Council meetings to school board meetings, from hockey games to boat races, from restaurant reviews to helping the less fortunate, and everything in between, we intend to get the news that matters most to you. Trenton Patch is a daily news source, so you can count on seeing fresh stories consistently.

But it's also more than that. Trenton Patch has an extensive directory that gives you an up-close-and-personal look at all of the restaurants, shops and services found in the city. Each listing has pictures and valuable information about businesses that could easily shave minutes off your shopping hour. Add your own reviews to the listings, too.

I have a degree in journalism from Wayne State University, a degree in literature from Eastern Michigan University and an unofficial degree in Downriver living from growing up and living here nearly my entire life.

Before becoming the editor for this great Patch in this great city, I was a reporter for The News-Herald. At The News-Herald, I worked on hard-hitting news stories that directly affected the community and feature stories that highlighted some of the great things about Downriver. I once covered the Downriver Cruise on the back of a 1987 Trac Clipper moped, swerving in and out of traffic and getting to know people in the community.

I intend to bring the same excitement and zest for life to Trenton Patch to bring you the best of your city and the news when you want it—fast.

Look for me and my team of professional reporters and photographers as we are out working in the community, gathering information and getting to know community members. Don't be afraid to say hello and give us a heads-up on all things Trenton when you see us.
