Members of and volunteers from across Oakland County came together Saturday morning to help in the church's gymnasium.
Zion Christian Church works with the Alms Project to prepackage the meals. Some of the meals will be used in local homeless shelters, while others will be used in response to national disasters and international relief efforts. The Alms project is also working with Kids Against Hunger to provide kids with meals.
In 2010, volunteers and members of the church packed 30,000 meals; this year, the church more than tripled its goal and packaged 100,000 meals.
