Walsh College Students Take Home Ernst & Young Ernie Trophy

Thirteen Walsh College students participated in the fifth annual Ernst & Young Information Assurance Challenge held at Walsh on May 18 and 19.  The four teams worked on analyzing an information security case and creating their presentations Friday evening and Saturday morning. Presentations began at 11:30 a.m. Saturday and concluded with the judges’ announcement at 3 p.m.

Four information security professionals from area businesses served as judges. They acted as real-world clients who hired the students to solve a case, present their findings and make recommendations. Judges based their decisions on presentation content, style, and a questions and answers session.

The judges awarded the 2012 Ernie trophy to the first place team of: Marc Griffin (MAC), Clinton Township; Valerie Debler (BBA-ACP), Clinton Township; Nichole Buchman (BBA-MGT), Sterling Heights; Brad Perry (MAC), Pontiac.
