Assaults and More Reported to Troy Police

The following information about police incidents is taken directly from the most recent Troy Police Department media releases.

AssaultsΒ 

Korean Methodist Church, 42693 Dequindre, Sept. 4, 10:30 p.m.: Victim advised he was at a meeting at the church regarding a trip. The suspect became irate when he was not appropriated additional funds and grabbed the victim around the neck and repeatedly punched the victim in the face. The victim suffered minor abrasions and a possible concussion.

Credit, check, identity theft, other fraud

5000 block of Virgillia, Jul. 19, 9 a.m.: Complainant advised an unauthorized charge of $399.00 was taken from his business checking account. Complainant advised no one had authorization to make this purchase.

5000 block of Collington, Jul. 5 to Sept. 5: Resident advised his Visa and American Express cards had been use nine times without authorization.Β

Drugs/narcotics

John R Road and Atkins, Sept. 6, 12:48 a.m.: Troy officers stopped a vehicle after observing it almost strike a guardrail. The driver admitted to drinking earlier in the day. The driver was able to pass field sobrieties. Officers observed a brown bottle in a paper bag, which was an open empty bottle of beer and marijuana seeds on the floor of the vehicle. The driver admitted marijuana was in the console of the vehicle. The driver, a 40-year-old from Troy was cited for possession of marijuana.

Driving under the influence of alcohol/drugsΒ 

Wattles and Coolidge, Sept. 5, 6:27 p.m.: Troy Officers were dispatched on a possible drunk driver who may have hit another driver. Officers located the vehicle and observed the vehicle swerving back and forth, almost striking curbs. The driver appeared very disorientated however did not have an odor of intoxicants on his person. The driver could not stand and admitted to recently taking prescription medication. The driver, a 40-year-old from Troy was taken to the hospital and a blood draw was conducted.

Larcenies

800 block of Century, May 15 to Sept. 4, 6 p.m. to 11 a.m.: Resident reported two sets of golf clubs were stolen from her storage locker in the basement of the apartment building. The golf clubs were valued at $1,800.Β 

Oakland Mall, 412 W. Fourteen Mile Rd., Aug. 23, 3 to 9 p.m.: Complainant stated he locked his bicycle with a combination lock and went to work. When he returned his bike was missing. The value of the bike was $222.

1000 block of Cadmus St., Sept. 4-5, 9 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Complainant reported a chainsaw was taken from his detached garage sometime overnight. The value of the chainsaw was $400.

Larcenies from autosΒ 

2000 block of Lovington, Sept. 3-5, 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.: Resident advised her vehicle was parked in the parking lot and when she returned the driver’s side window was smashed and the dashboard was torn off. Someone attempted to steal the navigation system but was unsuccessful.
