Kona Grill, 30 East Big Beaver, July 19, 9:26 to 11:45 p.m.: Complainant advised while dining at the Kona Grill someone took her vehicle without her permission. Complainant was in possession of the keys for her 2012 Ford Focus. Inside the vehicle were golf clubs, shoes and various personal items.
Drugs/narcotics
Interstate-75 and Crooks Road, July 17, 4:47 p.m.: Troy Officers responded to a rollover accident. Witnesses stated the vehicle was attempting to cut between two vehicles in the right and center lanes when the vehicle lost control, entered the ditch and rolled over. The driver, a 25-year-old Shelby Township resident, suffered minor abrasions. Officer impounded the vehicle and discovered 3 prescription medications (Lortab, Xanax and Hydrocodone) in the center console. The driver denied taking the medication at the time of the accident. The driver was arrested for operating under the presence of drugs. A blood test was conducted with results pending.
Wilshire and West Big Beaver, July 18, 1:11 a.m.: Troy Officer observed a vehicle parked in the roadway. The driver a 26-year-old Saginaw resident stated he “ran out of gas.” The suspect attempted to walk away from officers and then try to get into his vehicle. Officers requested to search the vehicle and the driver consented. Officers discovered a small baggie containing heroin in a pair of pants in the trunk. The suspect was arrested for possession of heroin. Officers cautiously patted down the suspect and discovered syringes in his pants pocket.

Driving under influence of alcohol/drugs
East Big Beaver Road and Dequindre, July 18, 3:38 a.m.: Troy Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding and observing the vehicle swerve side-to-side in its lane. The driver, a 25-year-old Fraser resident, had an odor of intoxicants on her breath. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobriety tests. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated. The breath test results were .08 percent.
Interstate-75 and Rochester Road, July 18, 1:42 p.m.: Troy Officers were dispatched to a complainant of a vehicle “all over the road.” Officers located the described vehicle and observed the vehicle repeatedly swerving from the left to center lanes. The officer activated his emergency lights and the vehicle continued and then suddenly swerved to the right shoulder and stopped. The driver a 23-year-old Rochester Hills resident was observed with glassy, bloodshot eyes. The driver failed field sobriety tests. The driver’s license was suspended and had a felony warrant out for his arrest. The driver was arrested for operating under the influence of drugs, driving while license suspended, and felony warrant. A blood test was conducted with results pending.

Wheaton and Acacia, July 18, 6:27 p.m.: Troy Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver, a 35-year-old Cass City resident, was observed with glassy eyes and an odor of intoxicants coming from within the vehicle. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Breath test results were .19 percent.
East Big Beaver and Dover, July 19, 3:01 a.m.: Troy Officer stopped a vehicle after observing the vehicle weaving in the center lane. The driver, a 35-year-old Clinton Township resident, had a strong odor of intoxicants emitting from the vehicle. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Breath test results were .11 percent.
Home invasions
4000 block of Cactus, July 18-19, 8:45 a.m. to 12:45 a.m.: Resident advised when he returned home from work he found his patio door was open and papers scattered on the floor of his study. The resident noticed a document box was missing that contained passports, deeds and social security cards. Also missing was jewelry, an iPad, and $1,500 cash. Total value of stolen items $3,389.
Retail fraud
Neiman Marcus, 2705 West Big Beaver Road, July 17, 11:30 a.m.: Loss prevention advised the suspect, a 51-year-old Detroit resident, was observed entering the store and selecting three purses from the display case and concealing them in a white garbage bag. The suspect exited the store without paying for the purses. Loss prevention stopped the suspect and recovered the merchandise values at $1,585. The suspect was arrested for retail fraud.
Wal-mart, 2001 West Maple Road, July 18, 4:12 pm: Loss prevention advised the suspect, a 24-year-old Sterling Heights resident, was observed selecting merchandise and placing it in his pants pocket. The suspect left the store without paying for the merchandise. Loss prevented stopped the suspect and recovered the merchandise valued at $125.61. The suspect was arrested for retail fraud.
Kohl’s, 500 John R Road, July 18, 5 p.m.: Loss prevention officers advised the suspect, a 50-year-old Royal Oak resident was observed selecting a pair of shoes and placing them on his feet and putting his own shoes in his pants. The suspect exited the store without paying for the shoes. The suspect was stopped by loss prevention. The value of the stole merchandise was $64.99. The suspect was arrested for retail fraud.
JcPenney, 700 East 14 Mile Road, July 18, 5:54 p.m.: Loss prevention officers advised the suspect, a 19-year-old Detroit resident, was observed selecting Nike sandals and placing them in a shopping bag without paying for them. The suspect exited the store and was stopped by loss prevention. The value of the sandals was $81. The suspect was arrested for retail fraud.
