Bob’s Discount Furniture Opens New Troy Location

TROY, MI — Bob’s Discount Furniture, one of the fastest-growing furniture retailers in the country, officially opened its newest store in Troy on Thursday, Aug. 8.

The 36,662-square-foot store, located at 650 John R Road, marked the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 9:15 a.m. Local dignitaries, Bob’s leadership, and community members attended the event.

As part of the celebration, Bob’s donated $5,000 to two local organizations:

• Third Street Alliance, which provides housing stability and early childhood education programs.

• The Neighborhood Center, a nonprofit community-based organization serving low-income residents of the Easton area since 1967.

Guests at the grand opening also enjoyed complimentary snacks and refreshments from Bob’s in-store café, which offers coffee, ice cream, cookies, and candy at all locations.

Founded in 1991, Bob’s Discount Furniture has grown to over 200 stores across 26 states and has become the 7th-largest U.S. furniture chain, according to Furniture Today. The Manchester, Connecticut-based company is known for its everyday low prices on quality furniture, mattresses, and home accents, as well as its commitment to charitable giving.

Through the Bob’s Discount Furniture Charitable Foundation and Bob’s Outreach program, the company donates more than $2.5 million annually to schools and housing-related charities across the country.
