UPDATE: Dense Fog Advisory Canceled; Thunderstorms Possible This Afternoon, Evening

Thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening, says the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac.

9 a.m. – The dense fog advisory has been canceled, and the National Weather Service is now calling for a slight chance of thunderstorms today and tonight. Storms are not expected to be severe.

3 a.m. – A dense fog advisory is in effect until 11 a.m. Monday for much of southeast Michigan, according to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac.

Areas of dense fog will reduce visibility to a quarter mile or less this morning, making traveling difficult. If you are driving, slow down, use your headlights and leave plenty of space between you and other vehicles, says the weather service. For a look at real-time traffic in Troy, click here.

This afternoon and evening, thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rain and hail up to half an inch in diameter are likely, though severe weather is not expected, says the weather service. The best chance of storms is between 2 and 8 p.m.
