Drunk Suspect Tried To Grab McDonald's Employee: Police

Troy Police arrested a man for drunk driving after McDonald's employees alerted them about his behavior at a drive-thru window.

TROY, MI β€” A Troy man was arrested for drunk driving on Dec. 2 after police were alerted by employees at a Maple Road McDonald’s restaurant. The 33-year-old Troy man attempted to grab a female McDonald’s employee through a drive-thru window after circling the building at 70 W. Maple Road, according to police reports.

After a short investigation, officers found the man’s 2006 Jeep in the driveway of a home on Biltmore Drive in Troy at about 6 p.m. Officers spoke with the man, who admitted to getting food from the McDonald’s but denied having a confrontation with an employee.

Reports noted that the man’s speech was slurred and that he was unsteady on his feet. Officers asked him to take a preliminary breath test, but he refused and was arrested.

Police obtained a search warrant for the blood test and his blood was drawn by medical personnel. The 33-year-old was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol – 3rd offense pending lab results.
