The deadline to file petitions for Troy City Council is Aug. 13 at 4 p.m. in the City Clerk's office.
To be eligible to run for City Council, you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Troy and a registered voter.
Three seats are up for the Nov. 5 general election. Councilmembers Wade Fleming, Maureen McGinnis and Ed Pennington's seats are up this November. McGinnis has announced that she will not be seeking reelection.
Applicants must submit a minimum of 60 valid signatures with the required documents. The deadline to withdraw as a candidate after filing for the office is Aug. 16 by 4 p.m.
