Hundreds of Troy Homes Lose Power as Wind Picks Up
Gusts as high as 40 m.p.h. threaten to bring down branches and knock out power to Troy homes and businesses Monday afternoon.
UPDATE: As of 3:30 p.m., power has been restored to all affected Troy customers; there are no additional outages this time, according to the DTE Energy outage map.
More than 350 Troy residences in the neighborhood north of Long Lake Road and east of Rochester Road lost power late Monday morning as winds began to pick up in the area. Those homes are expected to regain power between 3 and 5 p.m., according to DTE Energy.
Though a wind advisory has not yet been issued, the National Weather Service is predicting sustained northern winds around 26 m.p.h. with gusts as high as 40 m.p.h.

Winds will die down this evening, though only slightly; north-northwest winds are expected to continue between 14 and 21 m.p.h. with gusts as high as 29 m.p.h. It will remain partly cloudy into the afternoon and evening.
