I-75 Construction In Oakland County Resumes Friday: What You Need To Know

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — Construction on part of Interstate 75 in Oakland County will pick back Friday after a winter break, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.

Both directions of Interstate 75 between Interstate 696 and Square Lake will close Friday night so crews can install a traffic shift, officials said.

The traffic shift is to allow crews to rebuild southbound Interstate 75 between 13 Mile Road and Interstate 696, officials said.

During the weekend closure, drivers will be able to enter northbound Interstate 75 at 14 Mile, Rochester, Big Beaver and Crooks roads, officials said.

Both directions of Interstate 75 between Interstate 696 and Square Lake will reopen Monday morning, but both directions between 13 Mile Road and Interstate 696 will be narrowed down to the northbound side of the freeway, officials said.

In addition, numerous Interstate 75 ramps will be closed through the end of the 2023 construction season, including:

• Southbound Interstate 75 entrance and exit ramps at 12 Mile Road
• Southbound Interstate 75 entrance and exit ramps at 11 Mile Road
• Southbound Interstate 75 ramps to eastbound and westbound Interstate 696

Drivers will be able to enter northbound Interstate 75 from westbound 12 Mile Road and drivers can exit northbound Interstate 75 to eastbound 12 Mile Road, officials said.

In addition, 12 Mile Road under Interstate 75 will close Friday morning so crews can rebuild the bridge over the road, officials said. A specific timetable for the closure wasn't provided.
