Interstate-75/Crooks Construction Begins July 29

Troy will be replacing the intersection of Interstate-75 and Crooks Road with funding from the Tri-Party Program.

Two-thirds of these funds come from Oakland County and the Road Commission for Oakland County, and one third from the city. Despite the intersection of I-75/Crooks being under the jurisdiction of the RCOC and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), the city will be administering the project using Tri-Party funds that can only be applied to County roads.

Troy selected this intersection because of its poor condition and because it would not otherwise be done, except by the use of Tri-Party funds.   

Starting July 29, the Interstate-75/Crooks road intersection will be under construction until late September. Replacement of concrete in the intersection will require significant lane closures and restrictions in all directions during three phases of construction. An alternate route is advised.   

Phases 1 & 2 Traffic Restrictions:

• The intersection will be closed to through and left turn traffic from the Interstate-75 off ramp. 
• Traffic from the off ramp must turn right at Crooks and use the median turn around located north of the intersection. 
• Corporate Drive closed to through traffic at Crooks.
• Traffic from Corporate must turn right at Crooks and use the median turn around located south of the intersection.
• Left turns from southbound Crooks to the Interstate-75 on ramp prohibited.
• Right turns from northbound Crooks to the Interstate-75 on ramp permitted.
• Lane closures will occur on Crooks, Interstate-75 ramp and Corporate Drive leading into the intersection.
• These closures are scheduled to last until mid September.

Phase 3 Traffic Restrictions:

• Right turns at Crooks from Interstate-75 off ramp prohibited.
• Left turns and through traffic from Interstate-75 off ramp permitted.
• Right turns from northbound Crooks to the Interstate-75 on ramp prohibited.
• Through traffic from Corporate to the Interstate-75 ramp permitted.
• Left turns from southbound Crooks to the Interstate-75 on ramp permitted.
• Lane closures will occur on Crooks, Interstate-75 ramp and Corporate Drive leading into the intersection.
• These closures are scheduled to last until late September.
