TROY, MI — Part of John R Road in Troy is closed after a car hit multiple utility poles Friday morning, knocking out power to dozens of people in the area, according to police.

Police encouraged drivers to avoid northbound John R Road at 14 Mile Road as DTE Energy lineman repair numerous downed power lines. Officials said the road may be closed through 4 p.m. Friday for repairs.

Police did not report any injuries in the crash.
