Man Slips Through Ice While Snowmobiling Across Lake

Neighbors rushed to rescue the man.

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — A man crashed through ice and slipped into freezing Highland Lake water while snowmobiling, according to a press release.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office responded to the call on Dec. 18 at 6:25 p.m. Neighbors reportedly helped the 52-year-old Highland Township man out of the lake before Deputies and the Dive Team arrived.

The man was transported to Huron Valley Hospital where he was treated and released. The Department of Natural Resources was notified regarding the removal of the snowmobile from Highland Lake, according to the press release.
