Oakland County Bank Teller Steals $80K From Customer Accounts: MI AG
An Oakland County bank teller is facing charges after officials said she stole $80,000.
TROY, MI — An Oakland County bank teller is facing charges after officials said she stole $80,000.
Rhodesia Jones, 25, of Detroit, was charged with one count of embezzling from a financial institution (20-year felony) and two counts of failing to file a tax return (five-year felony). She was placed in jail with a $50,000 bond. Her next court date is scheduled for Oct. 16.
Officials said Jones worked as a teller at PNC Bank in Troy from June 2023 until May 2024. During that time, officials said she withdrew roughly $80,000 from customer accounts without authorization.

Officials also said Jones failed to report the income on her state tax returns.
"Consumers must be able to trust those who handle their finances," Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said. "My office will continue to hold accountable those who exploit that trust for personal gain."
