Teens Intimidated at Troy Park; Mailbox, Driveway Covered in Shaving Cream

Teens intimidated in park, asked to empty pockets

Three teenage boys reported being approached by two men Tuesday afternoon at . According to a police report, the men asked the teens if they "had any (expletive) on them" while one of the men stood in front of the teens and the other stood behind them.

According to police, the teens reported that the men then demanded the teens empty their pockets. The boys had only cell phones with them, and the suspects fled the park. Troy Police say they do not know if the men were looking for drugs or money.

One suspect is described as a 20-year-old male with medium build and tattoos. The other is described as a 20-year-old male with a medium build and a yellow plaid shirt. If you have any information about the incident, please contact the Troy Police Department at 248-524-3447.

Man suspected in hit-and-run arrested for operating while intoxicated

Troy Police officers responded to the area of Rochester Road and Interstate 75 Tuesday night for a report of a hit-and-run accident. The victim, who was not injured, gave police a description of the vehicle.

According to a media release, Troy officers located the vehicle and its driver, an 18-year-old Madison Heights man, soon after. The man failed sobriety tests and blew a 0.12 percent on a preliminary breath test; he was arrested for operating while intoxicated and cited for failure to stop and identify at a property damage accident.

Homeowner's daughter discovers break-in after school

The daughter of the owner of a home on the 4000 block of Hedgewood arrived home from school Monday afternoon to discover the sliding glass door wall window had been shattered, according to police.

The homeowner then arrived home and reported the master bedroom, master bathroom and closet had been ransacked and jewelry and a collector's coin stolen. There are no suspects at this time.

Items stolen from vehicles

There are several recent reports of items being taken from vehicles in Troy:

  • 3000 block of Wakefield: CDs and coins stolen from unlocked vehicle overnight Sunday.
  • 3000 block of Lawson: Two iPods removed from vehicle, one stolen and the other thrown on the lawn Monday afternoon.
  • 4000 block of Lehigh: Window smashed and purse stolen from vehicle overnight Monday. The wallet was found on a neighbor's lawn.
  • 1000 block of Fountain: Window smashed and briefcase stolen overnight Monday.
  • 4000 block of Wintergreen: Rear passenger window smashed and purse, watch, iPad, laptop and x-ray equipment stolen overnight Monday.
  • 4000 block of Wintergreen: Window smashed and loose change stolen overnight Monday.

Mailbox, driveway covered in shaving cream

A resident on the 6000 block of Atkins reported Sunday morning that someone had spread shaving cream all over his mailbox and driveway overnight.
