Dog Escapes Yard, Bites Passerby; Teenagers Allegedly Throw Eggs at Family

Man bitten while separating fighting dogs

An employee of the Pet Suite Retreat was bitten while attempting to separate two fighting dogs Monday evening, according to a Troy Police report. The man suffered a two-inch cut on his leg.

Also at Pet Suite Retreat, an employee claimed Monday morning that he was assaulted by another employee during a dispute. The employee said he received a minor injury, according to a Troy Police report.

Dog escapes yard, bites passerby

Troy Police responded to a home in the 3000 block of Kilmer Sunday evening after receiving a report that a family dog had pulled a yard anchor out of the ground, run out of the yard and bitten a passerby on the forearm.

According to a police report, the victim – a 43-year-old Troy man – suffered an open wound. Oakland County Animal Control is conducting a follow-up investigation.

Teenagers allegedly throw eggs at family

A woman reported to police on April 13 that a group of seven teenagers had arrived at while her family was playing on the playground. The teenagers were swearing, according to a police report, and when the woman asked them to stop, the teenagers left the area.

A few minutes later, the teenagers returned and threw eggs at the family. The family's teenage son was hit in the leg but was not injured, according to the police report. Two of the teenagers have been identified.

Copper stolen from home

A construction company representative reported Monday that someone had stolen all of the installed copper wiring from a home under construction on the 1000 block of Hazelnut, according to a police report.

Catalytic converters stolen

A man reported reported Monday that someone had stolen the catalytic converter from his Chevrolet while he was parked at the .

A catalytic converter was also stolen from a Pontiac Aztek parked at on April 13, according to a Troy Police report.

License plates stolen from businesses

A business representative from reported Tuesday that someone had stolen two Michigan license plates from the dealership. Also on Tuesday, a man reported someone had stolen the license plate off of his car while it was parked in the parking lot of his apartment complex on the 1000 block of Kirts.

Men suspected of squatting in apartment

A man reported Monday afternoon that he scared off two men who were climbing into the window of an adjoining apartment on the 1000 block of Minnesota. Officers discovered the apartment to be vacant with just a candle, a pillow and a blanket inside, according to a police report.
