Woman assaults employee over Groupon

An employee at The Beauty Regime reported to police Wednesday afternoon that a customer became outraged, cursed and then pushed the employee after being told her Groupon coupon had expired.

Man attempts to cash fake check

Troy Police officers responded to Bank of America Thursday afternoon after employees reported a customer was attempting to cash a fraudulent business check, according to a police report.

The 21-year-old Detroit man was taken into custody. While in custody, officers found a small bag of marijuana in the man's pocket. The man said his friend has asked him if he wanted to make extra money by cashing checks, according to police. The man was charged with uttering and publishing and possession of marijuana.

Catalytic converters stolen from cars

Three vehicle owners reported the catalytic converters from their vehicles had been stolen Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. The incidents occurred on the 2000 block of Dorchester, the 2000 block of Crooks and the 1000 block of Kirts. A fourth catalytic converter was also stolen from the 2000 block of Dorchester Wednesday evening or Thursday morning.

Stolen motorcycle recovered in Detroit

The Detroit Police Department recovered a 2008 Yamaha motorcycle Tuesday night. The motorcycle had been stolen from the 700 block of Coachman last July. The motorcycle was recovered intact.

Man finds his stolen bike at Kroger

A Buffalo Wild Wings employee reported seeing his stolen bicycle chained to the bike rack at Kroger late Wednesday morning, according to a Troy Police report. The employee originally reported his bike as stolen on June 4.

Troy Police performed an investigation and learned a Kroger employee had purchased the bike from a homeless man. The bike was returned to its rightful owner.
