You Voted: Joe Kool's is 2012 Readers' Choice for St. Patrick's Day

Joe Kool's enjoys the luck – and votes – of the Irish in this week's Readers' Choice poll.

St. Patrick's Day is just hours away, and this week, Troy Patch readers chose as their choice for best place to celebrate the one day a year when everyone is Irish.

Joe Kool's , nabbing 42 percent of the total votes.

"We have friendly staff, good service, cold beer and live music," Joe Kool's manager Jerry Langgood said. "It's also a great place to watch a game."

On Saturday, the restaurant, which boasts 23 large-screen TVs, will be offering several St. Patrick's Day specials, including:

  • Reuben Pizza: Deep dish pizza loaded with slow-cooked corned beef, sauerkraut, a blend of Monterrey and mozzarella cheese and drizzled with thousand island dressing. $7.99 for a small; $12.99 for a large.
  • Shepherds Pie: Ground sirloin and diced vegetables in a savory sauce placed over mashed potatoes, then baked with a blend of cheeses. $9.99.
  • Irish Stew. Tender cubes of lamb slow cooked with carrots, celery, onion and potatoes in stock gravy, all loaded in a fresh-baked sourdough bread bowl. $11.99.
  • Guinness Battered Fish and Chips: Served with creamy house-made coleslaw, crispy fries and tartar sauce. $10.49.
  • Corned Beef and Cabbage: Slow-cooked corned beef served with boiled potatoes, carrots and buttery cabbage with a side of horseradish sauce. $10.49.

And, of course, there will be beer. Lots and lots of beer. Please drink responsibly.
