State Rep. Martin Howrylak invites residents of the 41st District to a Senior Brigade presentation on home repairs and equity scams from the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division onΒ Monday, Sept. 16
The event, hosted by Howrylak, will take place at the Clawson United Methodist Church located at 205 North Main Street in Clawson, atΒ 7 p.m.
"Senior citizens are more likely to be targeted by scam artists. It is easy to be confused and fall for these scams, so it is important that they have the knowledge to avoid these traps," said Howrylak, R-Troy. "This presentation will give residents all the knowledge they need to make educated decisions when it comes to home repairs and mortgages and avoid being taken advantage of."

The presentation will provide attendees with informationΒ about how to recognize potential repair scams, work with a contractor, understand reverse mortgages, and tips to recognize and avoid foreclosure scams.
